Who is Mick Ives?

To date Mick has won 8 World Masters Cycling Championships and a total of 17 World Championship medals, add to that a professional championships and 79 British Cycling Championships. He held a professional licence for 8 years on road/cross and track, and alter another 8 years with mountain biking.

He is the only male British rider to represent his country internationally at road/cross/mountain and track. He has also won National Championships on road/time trials/hill climbs/cross and mountain bike. Off the bike, he has managed the Great Britain team at the World Championships for both cyclocross and mountain biking, as well as acting as professional team manager for several UK based professional teams.

Throughout his illustrious career he has even managed Stephen Roche (World No.1 – World Champion, Tour de France and Giro winner) when he rode the Nissan Tour of Ireland.

    I wish Mick every success on his mammoth ‘Italian Job’, fund raising event. What a star he is.
